Like it or not, Pocketpair’s Palworld has strong ties to Nintendo’s Pokémon franchise. Sure, the gameplay might be different, but the theme, art, and even concept heavily borrow from Nintendo’s money-printing IP, to the point thatNintendo sued Pocketpairfor it.
This is why it’s kind of odd that Palworld is available on almost every gaming deviceexceptNintendo’s console, the Switch. It seems it’s not a case of Pocketpair refraining from releasing on the console but mostly due to technical limitations.

Palworld Developers Won’t Be Reporting To Work To Play Monster Hunter Wilds
Pocketpair has made February 28 a special “non-working” holiday due to notices from employees that they were going to get sick that day.
Palworld Devs Considering Porting Palworld to Nintendo Switch 2 If It’s “Beefy” Enough
Speaking toIGNat the Game Developers Conference (GDC), Pocketpair Communications Director John “Bucky” Buckley shared, “If we could make the game work on the Switch, we would, but Palworld is a beefy game.”
But with the Nintendo Switch 2 housing a more horsepower under the hood, could we see it there, then? Bucky couldn’t confirm that, though he mentioned that Pocketpair is interested. However, the dev team hasn’t gotten a chance to check under the hood of Nintend’s upcoming console.

Bucky said, “We haven’t seen those specs yet…Like everyone else, we’re waiting. I’m walking around GDC hoping someone will tell me them, but everyone I’ve spoken to says they haven’t even seen them.”
“If it’s beefy enough, it’s 100% worth considering. We did a lot of optimization for Steam Deck, which we were really happy with. Still work to do, but we’re really happy with how it turned out. So we would like to get it on more handhelds if possible,” Bucky adds.

Digimon Alysion Might Be The Pokemon TCG Pocket Killer
Bandai Namco has announced Digimon Alysion, an upcoming digital version of the Digimon Card Game, which can rival the popular Pokemon TCG Pocket.
The big question here is: even if the Nintendo Switch 2 is capable of running it, will Nintendo even allow it? I’d say the chances of that are slim, given Nintendo is suing the developer for purportedly infringing on their trademark. Having it appear on their console might somewhat dilute their lawsuit’s essence. Plus, I doubt Nintendo would want the Pokémon brand to be associated on the same console as Palworld given Pocketpair’s game contains guns.

While we already know what the Nintendo Switch 2 looks likebased on its initial announcement, there are still many unanswered questions. Fortunately, Nintendo is set to host a new Nintendo Direct on April 2 that will extensively cover the Nintendo Switch 2. We expect the price, release date, launch software and more to be discussed at the event next week.
