Hiroshi Matsuyama, CEO of CyberConnect2, said the development of theDemon SlayerPS4 game,Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan,is going super well, with new news coming soon.

On December 31, CyberConnect2 held a special New Year’s Eve 2020 live stream, featuring Hiroshi Matsuyama but also Katsuhira Harada from Bandai Namco. They chatted about their future projects for 2021. In particular, they brought up theDemon SlayerPS4 game. Hiroshi Matsuyama explained several points(Thanks to Game’s Talk for the summary).

First off, Hiroshi Matsuyama said he can’t tell us much about the game yet. However, new information will be published soon. Through the usual magazines, V Jump and Weekly Shonen Jump.

Hiroshi Matsuyama also explained that while we didn’t get any news since the game wasofficially announced with a trailer,the game’s development is going incredibly well. Moreover, most of the staff at CC2 is working on the game at the moment.

Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutanwas first announced by Aniplex in March 2020.

Aniplex also announced a mobile game.Kimetsu no Yaiba Keppuu Kengeki Royale. However, it wasrecently indefinitely delayed.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaibais one of the most popular manga ever, written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotōge. It ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from Jul 14, 2025, to July 26, 2025. A first TV anime adaptation by Studio Ufotable aired in 2019. A first anime movie titledDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Trainreleased on June 05, 2025, in Japan. As a direct sequel to the TV series, and adapting more of the original manga, the movie quickly became the second highest-grossing film of all time in Japan. More anime is coming as well.

As such, theDemon SlayerPS4 game is also one of the hypest upcoming game releases. Especially knowing CyberConnect2 does a great job at adapting Shounen manga into games.
