For quite some time now, some have believed thatDeath Strandingwill eventually one day come to PC. While Kojima Productions hasn’t announced a version of the game outside the one that will be coming to PS4 later this year, some new activity involving the game is once again prompting fans to ask questions about its viability on other platforms.
As spotted recently onPlayStation Australia’s official website,Death Strandingis no longer listed as a PS4 exclusive. The game has been confirmed to have once actively been listed on this page, but it has since been removed for one reason or another.
Of course, because of this, the immediate conclusion that you could jump to would be that a PC version ofDeath Strandingmight indeed be coming. To fail to appear on this list would seem to signify that the game will be on other platforms. Other past PS4 exclusives likeDetroit: Become Human, which has since beenannounced to come to PC, is also nowhere to be found on this page.
Still, it might not be that straightforward. This website page is also noticeably missing other upcoming PS4 exclusive games likeMediEvilandConcrete Genie, as some pointed out onReddit. Both of those aforementioned games are being published by Sony, too. So perhaps the absence of any of these games appearing on this webpage doesn’t mean as much as you might think.
Considering how much support Kojima Productions has received from Sony over the years, and also realizing that the engineDeath Strandingis utilizing is from another first-party Sony developer in Guerrilla Games, I’m hard-pressed to believe that a PC version ofDeath Strandingcould be in the works just yet. It’s not totally unlikely though, given that Kojima Productions is technically an independent company and isn’t owned by Sony. It’s all pretty nebulous right now.
If a PC version ofDeath Strandingdoes end up arriving, we’ll find out sooner or later. Until then, the game is slated to only launch on PS4 on November 8.
