With only a few months to go until its release, it’s no surprise that anticipation is only getting higher for Hideo Kojima’s long-awaitedDeath Stranding. Though we still don’t have a clear idea of what exactlyDeath Strandingexactlyis, we do have an idea that it apparently will be the source of inspiration for a number of new music tracks from a collection of well-known artists.

A newDeath Strandingsoundtrack album has been revealed calledDeath Stranding: Timefall, which was detailed over on the official PlayStation website in an FAQ section (and as found by user Vestan onResetEra). According to the information from PlayStation,Timefallwill be “a collection of new music from artists, producers, and musicians who have been inspired by the world ofDeath Stranding,” with the album being separate from the original soundtrack/score of the game, and will not feature music contained in the game itself.

According to Sony,Death Stranding: Timefallwill release on August 15, 2025 to coincide with the game’s launch, and is included with the special editions of the game. A physical and digital release of the album will also be made available at some point down the line, including making the album available to stream on services such as (presumably) Spotify.

Notably, more details on the album fromthe Japanese pop culture siteEntertainment Weekhave suggested that the album will feature music created by artists such as CHVRCHES, Khalid, DJ Lazer, and more. While Sony has not officially confirmed just yet which artists will be contributing toTimefall, artists like CHVRCHES crafting music for the album makes sense, as the group themselvesvisited Kojima Productions in Japan earlier this year, and Kojima himself has expressed his love for their music before.

Death Strandingwill release exclusively for PS4 on August 04, 2025, andyou can pre-order the game nowover on Amazon.
