As we approach the release ofDeath Stranding 2: On The BeachandSummer Games Fest, it’s only natural that the two events collaborate. That’s exactly what’s happening on June 8th.

Aside From A Live-Action Movie, Death Stranding Is Also Getting An Anime
Hideo Kojima wants to create a version of Death Stranding that can only be realized through film.
It’s a busy time for the world ofDeath Stranding. In addition to the game’s launch on June 26th, plans are in place for a live-action movie and an anime adaptation.
When Norman Reeduswas askedabout portraying Sam Porter in a movie, he said, “If it was an option, yeah, for sure. I don’t know what’s happening with it. It’s so pre-pre-pre right now. But yeah, of course.”
Hideo Kojima Talks About The Future of Death Stranding
Even beforeDeath Stranding 2is released,Hideo Kojimais already discussing the franchise’s future. He has someideas for potential sequels and spin-offs, but he won’t be developing those. Instead, he’s looking to pass that responsibility to someone else. One reason could be his upcomingexclusive Xbox game, which is being developed in collaboration with Jordan Peele.

That’s not all, though, as the legendary developer is filled with ideas. Take, for example, his concept for a game wherethe passing of time is a game mechanic.
It starts out with the player being born, you’re a child and then gradually over time you become an adult. In the game, you fight various enemies. Like with the previous example (MGS3’s The End), if you keep playing the game, you will become a 70 or 80 year old man. However, at this age you will be weaker, your eyesight will worsen. When you are a teenager you’ll be able to run faster but by the time you reach 60 you’ll slow down a bit.
Even though Kojima may be moving on from Death Stranding, it looks like he’ll still be active in game development for the foreseeable future.
