Dead Island 2
Which Character Should You Choose?
The true answer to this question is one that no one ever likes to hear, and it’s that therereally isn’t a right or wrong answerto it. Choosing your character is going to come down to your own preferences, how you envision yourself playing the game, and how you have usually played games like this before.
However, that does not mean that there aren’t certain characters that aren’t recommended for those of you juststarting out in Dead Island 2. In fact, there are two of themthat can be all-around great choices.

The first character is Jacob. This character has solid stats across the board, not necessarily excelling in any category, while also not being bad in any of them either. His best attributes are definitely Stamina and Peak Health, both of which are huge in keeping yourself alive in the game through the swarms of the undead. He also comes with a damage boost whenattacking in quick succession, while also having good critical damage when low on Stamina.
Then there is Carla, who isanother well-rounded characterfor you to choose. Carla is much like Jacob in that she brings a good balance of attribute ratings, which can be great for anyone just starting out. Carla is best in Toughness and Resilience, which can help keep you alive and resistant to all kinds of damage in the game.

But what really makes Carla special is that herdamage will increase as more enemies surround you, which isa very common occurrencein Dead Island 2. This can make these sections a breeze and that will prove to be one of the most useful things you can have in the game. While Jacob is a great choice,it has to be Carlawho slightly edges him out of the competition, largely because of her damage boost when swarmed. It’s just too useful of a benefit to pass up.
Choosing your character is just the beginning of Dead Island 2, and you will want to put your best foot forward in every possible way. Because of this, check out our guides on the best tips for beginnersandhow to play with your friends.
