The ongoing asymmetrical survival gameDead by Daylighthas become synonymous with the growinghorrorgenre by including Killers and Survivors from all mediums, including the star of the upcomingcrime thriller Longlegs, Nicolas Cage.Behaviour Interactive’smultiplayer title also welcomedTomb Raider’sLara Croft to the roster recently, allowing players to discover thearcheologist’s British roots.
Since DBD has such a thriving community, feedback is often reported to the developers, including the recent call for KillerThe Trickster to be killswitchedbecause of photosensitivity issues. Behaviour’s response time regarding the severity of that matter could have been better in the eyes of players, and many are hoping the latest bug concerning the Backwater Swamp map is addressed in good time.

Dead By Daylight Studio Addresses New Disconnect Bots Feature After Negative Backlash
Most Dead by Daylight players would rather return to the lobby and Behaviour Interactive has listened.
Streamer and YouTuber @cocolatteDBD posted a clip on X showcasing what they labeled a “Game Breaking Bug”. The 40-second video took place on the Backwater Swamp map and showed a female Survivor standing beside a boat but the Killer HUX-A7-13 couldn’t land any attacks on her. A male Survivor was also shown in the same spot, but avoiding damage could only be achieved if he crouched.
The streamer stated “The Backwater Swamp has 2 boats that spawn on the outer edges of the map” and explained, “Standing in this specific corner prevents the killer from M1’ing female survivors”. However, “male survivors can crouch in this spot to avoid getting hit” and the player tagged the official DBD X account in the post asking the devs to “Please fix!”
Much of the community saw this bug as an opportunity for Behaviour to killswitch the Backwater Swamp map entirely, as it has become one of the least popular maps to play on, according to comments.
More importantly, other users highlighted the severity of this game-breaking bug because “intentionally using this to become invincible in a public match might end up getting you banned” and players were advised not to take advantage of this to win. Avoiding damage could be looked upon as simple cheating, which could result in players being removed from the game entirely.
This issue was reported yesterday (July 26, 2025) and Behaviour has yet to address the bug publicly on social media. Tickets are usually raised to the Player Support Team when bugs are encountered and the community is hoping this invincibility malfunction is addressed quicker than Behaviour’s action against The Trickster.
