Ukie has released this past week’s list of the top-40 best-selling video games in the UK andfor the second straight week, Activision’sCrash Team Racing Nitro-Fueledwas the top-seller. However, it only claimed this spot due to a rather strange technicality.
Even thoughCTRwas the top-seller on paper last week,Minecraftwas actually the highest-sold title in the UK last week. As mentioned byGamesIndustry.biz,Minecraftsold more copies in the UK for the past week collectively but because of how the game is sold, this prevented it from charting higher. In case you aren’t aware,Minecraftis published by different companies on different platforms. Because of this,Minecrafttakes up multiple spots on the chart rather than just a single one. If you combine the game’s sales across all avenues though, it sold enough to bestCrash Team Racing.
Other than this discrepancy, the top five spots remained mostly the same this week.Super Mario Maker 2andMario Kart 8 Deluxeboth held firm at second and third this past week once again. Meanwhile,Grand Theft Auto VandF1 2019both were bumped up by a single spot each to round out the top five.
For the rest of the list this week, it’s pretty much been more of the same. We should start to see more action on this weekly chart in the coming weeks as new games likeControlandAstral Chainfinally hit store shelves.
Until then, you can find last week’s full top-40 chart below.
