Creation is one of the final bosses you’ll encounter inClair Obscur: Expedition 33. As such, it’s definitely one of the most challenging fights the game will throw your way.

You’ll need to use everything you’ve learned and acquired to come out on top, and even then, it may not be enough. Thankfully, we’re here to help.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - 10 Hardest Bosses, Ranked

Sekiro remixes FromSoftware’s combat mechanics, offering challenging swordfights that rival those in all of gaming. Here are the hardest in the game.

By the time you encounter Creation, your characters will be either at or near their full potential.

Preparing for the Creation Fight

It’s the end of the final act, and the finale is in sight, so let’s keep our foot on the gas and keep going.

Preparing for the Creation Fight

There shouldn’t be too much preparation you need to do, but regardless, we’ll go over how to make sure you can deal with Creation without much effort.

Best Party

At this point, you should have a good idea of your preferred party composition. You’ll need to be at your best, so now isn’t the time to experiment. As a result, stick with who you know.

The reason why I say this is because by this point, you’re facing off against the most difficult bosses Expedition 33 has to offer. You need to be at your best in order to defeat them. As such, it’s important to utilize the party members that you’re familiar with, as well as the ones you’ve invested the most in.

Best Party Composition for Creation

For example,Monocorequires a lot of time to unleash his full potential. You need to go hunt down specific enemies toobtain every skill. If you’re using him in an end-game fight with just a handful of skills, you’re gonna have a bad time. We also firmly believe that Verso, Sciel, and Maelle are thebest characters in Expedition 33. As such, it makes sense to utilize them on these final bosses.

The party I began the fight with was Verso, Sciel, and Maelle, and I’ve showcased their corresponding levels in the above image.

Best Skills for Creation

Best Skills

The Creation battle is a stamina test where you’ll need to be as efficient as possible. Its attacks are, at times, difficult to follow, so you’ll need endurance to go along with the firepower needed to take it down. As such, being able to Burn Creation, as well as having the ability to self-heal, will be super important.

Here are some of the major skills I used for my three main party members. Again, this isn’t the time for experimentation or being cute. It’s about execution.

Compared to some earlier bosses, I did slightly switch things up for Verso specifically. Previously, I used a self-damage build that also let him deal more damage. However, upon failing several times in the Creation encounter, I realized that starting the fight at half-health for extra damage wasn’t worth it anymore. I needed him to be more tanky, and some of Verso’s skills, such as Blitz, allow me to get in more damage.

I still utilized Verso’s From Fire skill, which lets him heal provided the target is Burned, as Maelle is constantly keeping Creation under fire. Together, the two are a perfect duo of efficient output and survivability.

Sciel is just incredible because of her flexibility: Harvest heals herself as needed, dishes out serious damage, and buffs ally attacks.

Creation Attacks Explained

As you’d expect, the hardest part of the Creation fight in Expedition 33 is dealing with its attacks. The animations can be tricky and difficult to decipher, and when it lands its attacks, they normally pack a punch.

As such, it’s important to know what you’re expecting going in and how to manage it.

8 JRPGs Better Than They Have Any Right To Be

Never judge a book by its cover or a JRPG by its excessively anime protagonist.

First things first, though. As the fight begins, Creation will apply Inverted to the Expedition, meaning that you cannot heal, and any attempt to heal will result in damage. So that’s fun. It will also be joined by two Abberation additional enemies.

With that out of the way, let’s review the attack moves done by Creation, a quick description of each, and whether it’s best to dodge or parry the attack move.

Creations' Abberation allies can cast Powerful on themselves before taking a turn, which makes them deal more damage. This isn’t guaranteed to happen, though. Just be aware.

Attack Phrase Indicator

Attack Description

“Abberration performs a Dark combo.”

An Abberration will perform a combo of 4 melee attacks on a random party member.

“Abberration performs a Light combo.”

An Abberration will perform a combo of 4 melee attacks on a random party member. Can Burn upon hit. It will also attack in rapid succession between the second and third attacks.

“Aberration creates earthquakes.”

An Abberration will summon an earthquake that can damage all party members. It will then follow up with a Gradient Attack.

Jump then Gradient Counter

“Aberration slashes forward.”

An Abberration will perform a sweeping attack that can damage all party members.

“Creation kicks.”

Creation will kick a random party member. Can stun upon hit. Creation will jump twice and have an exaggerated animation before doing the actual attack.

“Creation performs a melee combo.”

Creation performs a combo of 5 attacks on a random party member. It will jump first before starting the combo, which includes exaggerated animations before the attack is performed.

“Creation swipes with its tail.”

Creation performs a combo of 3 attacks with its tail, hitting all party members. It will move its head first before attacking with the tail. The final attack comes quicker than the first two, so you may want to Dodge rather than Parry.

“Creation rises into the air.”

Creation will gain 6 shields and summon 4 void orbs. Deal with the shields, but the Void Orbs will have a separate prompt.

“A Void Orb explodes.”

One of the Void Orbs will explode and deal damage to multiple party members. An animation, along with an audio cue, will occur.

“Creation projects blasts of energy.”

Creation will fly into the sky and perform a series of 3 staggered attacks. The first two are done with their head, the final with their tail.

“Creation performs a flying combo.”

Creation will fly into the air and perform a series of varied attacks, all of which require the player to deal with them differently, as follows: melee with its head, melee with its head, tail swipe, tail swipe, melee with its head, Gradient Attack.

In order: Parry, Parry, Jump, Parry, Parry, Gradient Counter

Creation will rise into the air at roughly 66% and 33% health. At 33% health, it also performs several turns in a row, so be mindful as you enter the home stretch of the fight.

How to Beat Creation in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

The fight against Creation is a marathon, especially with the two Aberration summons joining it at the start. As such, being able to successfullyparryCreation’s attacks is important. Don’t forget, too, that several of the Creation attacks will hit multiple party members. As always, if you’re not confident in your ability to parry, just dodge. Better safe than sorry.

Don’t forget that even if your main party dies, you can use the other two party members in reserve to finish the job.

10 Best AA Soulslikes You Need To Play

Mid-tier budgets, top-tier punishment

This is a fight where you can take full advantage of ourVerso buildthat lets him attack twice in a turn. He’s able to pack a serious punch, and being able to attack twice in one turn, especially since you have to deal with adds at the start of the fight, means you get to make quick work of them and focus on Creation itself. It’s better to Dodge their attacks than risk trying to Parry and having to heal so quickly into the fight.

Verso’s Paradigm Shift ability is perfect to keep your AP meter filled, especially if you’re constantly dodging attacks rather than parrying.

One thing to keep in mind with Creation is that its attack animations are staggered. Take your time to learn the animations and how they specifically work so you can understand the timing. It will switch up how it deals damage between using its head and tail. Its purpose is to confuse you.

Creation will also unofficially change phases at two points in the fight when its health drops below 66% and 33%. This is when it gains shields and summons Void Orbs. This is different than what you may be used to when a boss will change phases halfway through the fight, or start anew after its health bar is depleted.

While Creation’s shields may seem intimidating to deal with, they’re less of an issue than you may think. If you’re able to constantly parry Creation’s combos, you’ll have more than enough AP to aim and shoot the shields down.If you’re desperate, using Sciel’s Gradient Attack will remove them all. While this means you’ve “wasted” a Gradient Attack, your party is more than capable of defeating Creation without one.

Again, this is an endurance fight, not a race to the finish. It’s more important to be able to remove the shields quickly, rather than deal with them and have to dodge more attacks from Creation.

There are other ways to suffer the frustration of dying 1000 times in the same spot.

Stay calm and make sure you’re dodging/parrying its attacks. It may take a while, but if you stay focused, Creation will go down.

After defeating Creation, you’ll get the following rewards:
