It’s been a pretty rocky road forSid Meier’s Civilization VII. Despite plenty of promise and enjoying my time with the game at launch, it has failed to capture the same imagination as past titles in the iconic series.
Civ 7 was always going to bedivisive among fans. That’s just the nature of the franchise. Everyone hates the newest game until they come to love it. Civ 7 is different, though.

It brings sweeping changes that drastically alter the well established formula that go beyond simple improvements. TheAge systemis a massive change, and even months after release, I’m still not sure how I feel about it. I wish it let me change my leaders, not the entire civ, but I digress. Suffice it to say, most people are content sticking with Civ 6 or other4X strategy games.

Beyond that, though, certain features were inexplicably missing from the game at launch. Firaxis has been hard at workaddressing these issues, but they’re about to change one of my biggest.
New Civ 7 Update Will Give Scouts Auto Explore, Introduce A New Commander
Scouts willfinallyhave the ability to auto explore inCivilization 7with Update 1.2.3, launching the week of July 20th.
I was never quite sure why it was a missing feature from the game’s launch. It’s an excellent quality of life decision that cuts down on the amount of tasks you have during a turn, and I’m glad it’s finally making its way to Civ 7.

Civilization 7 DLC May Be Coming Soon, But Fans Complain Its Overpriced
Civ 7 fans complain that the upcoming DLC is far from a good value.
Update 1.2.3 will also introduce Age transition improvements to the game. A new countdown will lock in at least 10 turns before each Age transition, giving a heads up to complete any outstanding key objectives. Additionally, a Continuity setting will now preserve unit positions, and leader relationships will evolve more smoothly betweenAges.

Finally, a newCommanderis being introduced to the game: Trung Nhi, joining the battle when playing her sister, Trunc T. Trung Nhi features a custom unit model, a distinctive Promotion Tree art, and her own playstyle.
