This weirdThe Witcher 3genital saga continues, now with developersCD Projekt REDconfirming to DualShockers that, as far as they understood, the alleged “vulva textures” were part of a separate mod called “HD Monsters Reworked,” and not the “Vaginas For Everyone” mod.
CD Projekt affirms that they did contact and reimburse the HD Monsters Reworked creator for their mod and that this creator confirmed to the studio that they were “the sole author of the mod in question.” It would appear as though this creator included the Vaginas For Everyone textures intheirmod, though it’s perhaps possible that they just made their own very similar version of these textures. CDPR tells DualShockers that it contacted the HD Monsters Reworked mod author “with questions for clarification.”

CDPR also states that, regardless of this recent development, it is committed to removing these textures from the game, not to make any statement against nudity or mature themes, but to “maintain visual coherence across all character models.” Furthermore, CDRP affirms that “including these textures in the game was not something [it] planned from the start.”
For the uninitiated, CDPR released a next-gen version of The Witcher 3 forPlayStation 5andXbox Series X|Slate last year, packed with modern next-gen features like ray-tracing and higher framerate.Kotakufirst reported that another unexpected change came with this next-gen update, detailed genitalia textures on certain female characters. The Witcher 3 developers laterstatedthat these models were added by accident. They explained that the next-gen versions included numerous mods made by the community, and sorting through it all was a complex challenge.
CDPR alleged to have reimbursed all modders for their creations, but the creator of the “Vaginas For Everyone” then came outsayingthat they hadn’t been compensated or even contacted by CDPR. This new development puts everything into context.
It would appear as though a separate modder had included these genital textures intheirmod, perhaps without putting much thought into it (as mods are usually distributed for free), and so, the textures were added unknowingly by CDPR. We’ll have to wait and see what the “HD Monsters Reworked” mod creator has to say on the matter.
