The 2024 Grammys proved to be quite fruitful for Taylor Swift who took home two gramophones for her albumMidnightsand became the artist with the most Album of the Year wins. Aside from the obvious wins, some would say receiving the award from icon Céline Dion herself was nothing short of an honor.
However, call it shock if you may, Taylor Swift failed to greet the living legend on stage. Fans called the singer out for her disrespectful behavior but Céline Dion herself is not fazed by the move at all. She was simply happy to have achieved her true purpose of coming to the Grammys – to show people that she was not going to give up due to her medical condition.

Céline Dion Didn’t Mind Taylor Swift’s Actions
As we all know by now,Céline Dionhas been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder, Stiff-Person syndrome. While this disorder causes painful spasms and muscle stiffness in those affected, Dion is not letting it take over her life.
TheMy Heart Will Go Onsinger graced the stage of The 66thAnnual Grammy Awards to present the award for Album of the Year toTaylor Swift. As a surprised Swift walked up the stage and celebrated her win, she failed to acknowledge one extremely important person there – Dion. Luckily for theLavender Hazesinger, Dion didn’t take it to heart.

An insider toldPage Sixthat while greeting her would’ve been the right thing for Swift to do, Dion was just happy to be there. They added that the whole purpose of the singer’s Grammy visit was to show everyone that she was stronger than her medical condition.
“I don’t think Céline cared and they talked backstage afterwards. But Céline was just gracious and happy to be there. Of course, the right thing would have been for Taylor to acknowledge her, like Adele did years ago. She wanted to show everyone that she was doing alright. She has good days and bad days … it’s a painful disease, but it’s not a death sentence.”
Later on, Swift and Dion met each other backstage and posed for a picture together with big smiles.

While Swift was definitely in the wrong to have overlooked Dion, it looks like there is noBad Bloodbetween the two singers.
CélineDion is not Giving Up
After deciding to have a heart-to-heart with the fans about her condition througha video, Dion let the world know about what she had been going through. She stated that while she was not ready to speak about it before, she was now ready to do so. Dion stated,
“I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything…Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life. Sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to. I have to admit it’s been a struggle. All I know is singing, it’s what I’ve done my whole life.”

As she was on tour around this time, Dion was forced to cancel all her future dates but she promised her fans that she was not giving up.
“I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%…I want you all to know, I’m not giving up.”
Showing up at the Grammys was Dion’s way of proving exactly this. She hasn’t ruled over the industry and our hearts for all these years to give up now. We are confident, just like Dion, that she’s going to bounce back soon!
