It was recently announced that the filming for theOne Piecelive-action’s second season has begun filming as the Straw Hat Pirates gathered on the Going Merry, including Emily Rudd. Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Jacob Romero, and Taz Skylar all gathered about the Grand Line to once again kick-start an adventure that brought both anime and non-anime fans together.

As the filming begins, new cast members are being announced left and right. While fans are desperately waiting for Nico Robin’s live-action counterpart to be announced, Emily Rudd has plans for another Hollywood star to find his way into the Grand Line. Many may have heard of Romero and Godoy’s wish to cast Danny Devito in the series but the actor Rudd wants is none other than John Cena.
Emily Rudd’s Dream Cast in John Cena
During a panel at Galaxy Con (viaX),Emily Ruddand Jacob Romero were asked about who they would like to cast in theOne Piecelive-action. Pondering about, one actor was obvious to them all, being Danny Devito. Upon thinking more, Romero came up with the idea of Dave Bautista joining the crew as Jinbei. While the idea caught a lot of attention, it was Rudd’s choice that got everyone screaming.
Yeah, but how are we gonna see him?

She proposed the thought ofJohn Cenataking his shot as Franky. The entire audience found themselves roaring with the idea but Romero posed the most important question, how was one to see him? The meme of Cena being invisible has been long since ongoing, with the wrestler-turned-actor also playing into it, and accepting his invisibility.

Moreover, Cena is a well-known anime fan with his favorite film beingFist of the Northstar. The actor trying his hand at playing Franky might not be the worst idea of the lot. In fact, it has more base than many others.
John Cena Would Make the Perfect Franky
While many would want Jim Carrey to play Franky, seeing that his Ace Ventura (viaCBR) was the inspiration behind the Straw Hat Pirate; John Cena playing the part seems just as plausible. He would fit far too perfectly as the character. Those funky, colorful, Hawaiian shirts and those dazzling hair would be something he could rock in no time.
Not only that, but the actor could easily fit the role, considering he has proven time and again of his prowess as an actor. While the issue of his invisibility remains, perhaps fans would be able to see him if he adorned Franky’s costume.

Whether or not such a possibility would become true is a task of probability and fate. However, fans and Emily Rudd are not the ones to keep their hope aside.
One Pieceis available to watch on Netflix.
