Well, it seems we may have an unofficial confirmation of this news by a well-known insider. Midorirevealed the existence of aPersona 2andPersona 4remake in a reply to a response from a fan of the series. They did not elaborate any further on the matter, a move that probably fueled more speculation than it would have curbed. The very first thing fans would ask is whether thePersona 2remake would include only the 1999 releasePersona 2: Innocent Sin, or also feature the 2000 releasePersona 2: Eternal Punishment. Leaker I’m A Hero Too, AKAReseterauser Head on the Blockhas claimed thePersona 2project isnot a remake but a remasterfeaturing new translation and holistic improvements and will be released on all platforms including Switch andXbox Series X and S. The translation would finally bridge the gap of thePersona 2duology and allow for a seamless playing experience.

The next day, Midori took to X again and dropped another vital piece of info:Persona 1will also be brought to the current generation of consoles. He went on to state that not all of the projects would receive thePersona 3: Reloadtreatment. This would most likely meanPersona 1andPersona 2duology will be remasters rather than remakes, as remaking those games would require a significant degree of redesign to fit modern sensibilities.

Fans Will Have to Make do With Persona 3: Reload for Now as the Remasters and Remakes Won’t be Out for a While

Midori’s track record of leaks regarding thePersonaseries has been impeccable and has led many to believe that Atlus has no issues with the leaks, or may even be participating in them. However, Midori was unable to provide any sort of timeframe for fans to expect the release of the remakes and remasters. This likely means there is a long time before we see any classicPersonaprojects coming to modern consoles.

Atlus’ Unicorn Overlord Releasing in 2024

We assume Atlus must be busy with the development ofPersona 6, and the rumored projects will hit the shelves only after the launch of the sixth installment.Persona 6is slated for release sometime in 2025, but a release date has yet to be communicated. Regardless, we are sure Midori’s responses are enough to keep the fans’ hopes alive to once again experience the classicPersonatitles.
