Blue Princeis a new indie game that focuses heavily onpuzzle solving and exploration. Unlike similar games, Blue Prince won’t be holding your hand throughout the process and instead will expect you to take your own notes on what you see and read.
Basically, all the puzzles and challenges in the game are based around the idea that you use environmental storytelling to solve each puzzle.This can get a little overwhelming, especially given the randomized nature of the floor plans in this game.

These puzzles don’t simply scratch your brain, but completely scrambles it.
Luckily, I’ve gone ahead and collected a lot of examples and evidence for this puzzle to give you a good idea of how it works and how to solve it pretty consistently.
However, keep in mind the randomized nature of the game may result in players getting entirely different clues for the puzzle.
What is the Three-Box Puzzle?
The Three-Box puzzle appears in the Parlor room whenever it is drafted. It will always have the same set-up with the instructions for the puzzle on a desk on the west side of the room and the boxes on small podiums on the east side.
The puzzle can be broken down into the age-old game “two truths and a lie” except with one twist, it can also be two lies and a truth. The official rules can be found in the papers on the desk along with the key needed to open one of the boxes.
There will always be at least one box which displays only true statements.
There will always be at least one box which displays only false statements.
Only one box has a prize within. The other two are always empty.
Usually, two of the boxes are obviously either true or false, while the third box typically makes things difficult. Never forget that the puzzle only needs to have one of each, so figuring out which one is the truth and which is the lie will make figuring out the third box significantly easier.

How to Solve the Three-Box Puzzle?
While I can’t give you any definitive answer since the puzzles are randomized, what I can do is provide various examples and some tips and tricks I figured out to make things a bit easier.
Since you’ve got a grasp on the rules below, you’ll find plenty of examples from the game that should give you an idea of how the puzzle will work each time.
As with all the game room puzzles in this game, each time you finish this puzzle it will get more difficult. Boxes will have the same clues on them or the clues will be confusing and provide limited information.
At a certain point, the boxes will have longer statements and occasionally no statements. This means that one box is true and one is false as the blank boxes do not count towards either one.
Have no fear though, because there is a way to actually make this puzzle a bit easier for yourself.Scattered throughout the house you’ll find Upgrade Disks that let you make an adjustment to the way a certain room works.
You’re only allowed to have a single upgrade for each room, so when you get the Parlor room upgrade you’ll want to choose wisely. You’ve got three options, as with every room, but one of these will probably be more helpful for solving the puzzle than the others.

This is only one of the many puzzles you’ll run into in this game.Don’t get too bogged down in figuring everything out in one go, it’s going to take several runs through the mansion to even gather all the information you might need.
