Blue Lockwas all the rage with its novel take on the sports genre. From its sales to its positive reception, it seemed more than promising. With its second installment, however, things are going downhill. Especially with the series’ drop in quality that had fans calling it a PowerPoint presentation. There is a solid reason for this blunder nonetheless.

Yoichi Isagi from Blue Lock.

The awful animation had several fans expressing their utter disappointment in the franchise. While overpromising and underdelivering isn’t uncommon, 8bit Studio’s failure stands as a testimony to that. However, there’s more to it than meets the eye, especially with the studio’s priorities. This only proves that they won’t be ridding themselves of the PowerPoint stereotype anytime soon.

Fans on X respond to the backburner treatment ofBlue LockSeason 2

Blue Lockis one of the most popular and celebrated manga in the sports genre. Written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, the series outlines the world of football. The story navigates the controversial project of the same name. Although the project is a screening test for players, it also negates the teamplay. Their move of creating an egoistic striker fails in most aspects.

Despite its attempt at individualism, it isfar-fetched from reality. Most fans have even argued that the writer failed in his non-practical approach. This holds especially true for the depiction of individual abilities. Most sports shonen series likeKuroko’s BasketballandHaikyuuare team-oriented. This, however, isn’t the only aspect in which the series falters.

8bit is plagued with the PowerPoint animation controversy

FromTokyo RavenstoInfinite Stratos, 8Bit has produced some underrated anime. The studio received its breakthrough with the success ofBlue Lock’sfirst season. It is considered the finest anime produced by the studio. The second season, however, disappointed many people. With the horrid animation quality, the studio is plagued with thePowerPoint controversy.

Severalsocial media channelsand content creators have pointed this out. From slow motion to pointer symbols, the animation would take one to a nostalgic trip. With its PowerPoint visuals and graphics, the animation feels less like an animation and more like a slide.
