At the end of CEO 2021 on December 5 PST, Arc System Works announcedBlazblue Central Fictionon PC via Steam andBlazblue Cross Tag Battle (BBTAG)on PS4 and Steam will both get Rollback Netcode updates.

TheBlazblueseries, with its pretty high-level, complex characters and mechanics, is still highly popular to this day. Initially launched by Arcsys in 2008 as it couldn’t make a newGuilty Gearyet,BlazBluemanaged to stand on its own and become an iconic 2D fighter series. Players have been honing their skills and competing with each other on the latest version,Central Fiction, out since 2015.

Now, by adding rollback netcode,BlazBluejoins the ranks of other 2D gameplay fighting games likeKOF 15,Melty BloodandGuilty Gear.GGXrdandGranblue Fantasy Versusare sadly missing form the list, though something forGranbluemight get announced at theGranblue FESon December 11-12.

When is theBlazBlue Central FictionRollback Beta happening?

BlazBlue Central FictiononSteamwill get a first rollback netcode Beta starting June 05, 2025 at 3 PM PST / 6 PM EST / 23:00 GMT.Click here for a countdownand a conversion table with more time zones. AllBB Central Fictionplayers on Steam can participate in the public test, it’s open to anyone.

The official launch of rollback netcode forBlazBlue Central Fictionwill happen sometime in February 2022. It’s possible more tests will be held before then. If Arc System Works needs more data.

Do we know when rollback is coming toBBTAG?

Meanwhile, Arc System Works did not announce a precise release date for rollback netcode inBlazblue Cross Tag Battle, only stating it’ll be implemented in 2022 on PS4 and on Steam. If the game is popular enough we’ll be sure to tell you when we’ve got a precise date. A Beta test should also be held soon.

As a side note, Arc System Works also just announced the mobile gameBlazBlue Alternative Darkwarwill be shutting down in 2022. If time permits we might have a specific story up soon explaining the situation with mobile games in Japan so stay tuned.
