Of all the superhero teams in the Marvel Cinematic Universe holding fictional characters with supernatural powers, theMidnight Sonsone is by far one of the most interesting and unique ones, as most die-hard comic book fans must already be aware of it. But there’s something even more interesting than this band of superheroes: Marvel Studios is reportedly developing an arc for the same in its next few phases!

However, with this happy report has come a heartbreaking report as well, which states that instead of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange leading this band, another sorcerer will allegedly be taking the lead alongside Mahershala Ali’s Blade: Wong.

As claimed byThe Cosmic Circus, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be reportedly exploring theMidnight Sonsarc in its upcoming few phases. Previously, some areas of this supernatural superhero arc have already been inspected and introduced in shows likeWandaVision,Moon Knight, andWerewolf by Night.
Moving on, Marvel Studios is expected to continue with this arc through its upcoming projects, some of which reportedly include new projects likeBlade,Ironheart, andMarvel Zombiesalong with continuing previous projects, like the second season ofMoon Knightas well asWerewolf by Night.

Further reports by The Cosmic Circus according to their sources state that the Mother of Demons aka Lilith will be the main antagonist of this arc, and the band of superheroes who will be defending humanity against this threat will apparently include the current Sorcerer Supreme Wong as one of the leading members of the team alongsideMahershala Ali‘s Blade.
Since Wong will reportedly be taking over as one of the leaders of these supernatural superheroes, this indicates thatBenedict Cumberbatch‘s Doctor Strange will most likely be sidelined, considering how having two Sorcerer Supremes in the same team as leaders will be meaningless.

Thus, if these reports are indeed true and Marvel is, in fact, exploring the idea of diving deeper into theMidnight Sonsarc, then this will be both good news and bad news: Good news for the Blade fans waiting eagerly for Mahershala Ali’s superhero making a major appearance on the big screen, and bad one for Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange fans.

For those who don’t know: The Order of the Midnight Sons is an old, mysterious group created over 20,000 years ago, that comprises both monsters and monster hunters who came together to defend the Earth against Lilith, the Mother of Demons.
Then came the Siege of Darkness storyline in the comics, which brought forward Doctor Strange gathering the loose-knit team initially called‘the Nine’(and later‘the Midnight Sons’) stepping forward as“mankind’s first line of defense against Lilith and the Lilin”.
Currently, its members include Eric Brooks aka Blade, Dr. Stephen Strange aka Doctor Strange, Elsa Bloodstone, Jericho Drumm aka Doctor Voodoo, Wong, Marc Spector aka Moon Knight, Dr. Theodore ‘Ted’ Sallis aka Man-Thing, Johnny Blaze aka Ghost Rider, Danny Rand aka Iron Fist, and Benjamin ‘Ben’ Reilly aka Scarlett Spider.
As for its former members, these include Werewolf by Night, Vengeance, Jennifer Kale, Hellstorm, Hannibal King, Jinx, Modred the Mystic, Sam Buchanan, Victoria Montesi, Louise Hastings, Morbius, and Ghost Rider aka Daniel ‘Dan’ Ketch.
So far, everything aboutMidnight Sonssounds super interesting, so Marvel Studios thinking of exploring this corner of superheroes with supernatural powers could be a good and worth taking risk option.
