It’s been already three years since Nintendo and Platinum Games hyped millions of gamers around the world with a brief teaser atThe Game Awards 2017, announcingBayonetta 3. However, since then, we haven’t heard anything new about the game yet. There’s no update on the development process, except the fact thatBayonetta 3is being developedamong a bunch of other big and small projects at Platinum Games. However, a recent quote from Hideki Kamiya increases the chances of gettinga new trailer from the game in 2021.

Speaking toVGC, Hideki Kamiya talked about some of the different projects going on in Platinum Games, but when he was asked about when they would be willing to share new details aboutBayonetta 3, he confirmed vaguely that something will be shown from the game sometime in 2021. Kamiya said:

It’s not really our position to say, but… it’s January. We’ve got to have something come out, right? I guess it’s safe to expect that something will come out. There’s still a lot of the year left is what I’m saying.

However, when he was asked what type of update this “something” could be, he said:

I understand it’s driving the fans crazy! In light of that, my suggestion would be that maybe we should all reset and forget aboutBayonetta 3. Then when something finally does happen, it will be a nice surprise, won’t it?

Apparently, Nintendo doesn’t want to kill the surprise of an official unveil forBayonetta 3, which makes Hideki Kamiya talk vaguely about the upcoming updates of the game, but it sounds like a new trailer from the game will surely come out this year if nothing unexpected comes out.

It’s been already seven years since the launch ofBayonetta 2, the last iteration of the franchise that was released on Wii U originally, with Switch versionsarriving earlier in 2018.
