Many quests inBaldur’s Gate 3will span across multiple acts, having you slowly progress through a character’s story alongside the main story. One of these long-term quests involves finding The Nightsong in Act 2, but their story doesn’t end after helping you at Moonrise Tower.

In Act 2, players will hear about a powerful wizard in Baldur’s Gate who is looking for The Nightsong and is willing to pay a large reward to however helps him find her. You’ll obviously need to keep The Nightsong alive throughout Act 2 to continue with this quest.

This article has been updated to include additional information surrounding this choice and the effects it has.

Which Portal Should You Take
Uponentering Baldur’s Gateand getting to the Lower City, alocation of where to find the wizard will be marked on your map. This Wizard, Lorroakan, has an entire building dedicated to magic and the study of it, with projections of himself acting as the staff running the tower. Head to theprojection at the main desk and tell them you have information regardingThe Nightsong.
The projection will tell you to go up the stairs and will then open up four portals for you to walk through. Theseportals are a test to see if you truly know information about The Nightsongbefore going and meeting Lorroakan. Next to each portal is an engraved pedestal with a sentence about The Nightsong, and youneed to pick which portal is next to the correct sentence. Thecorrect portal is the white one on the far left, and walking through it will teleport you to Lorroakan. Going through thewrong portal willdrop your character to zero hit pointsand teleport them back onto the street,so pick carefully.

Should You Side With Nightsong Or Lorroakan
After talking to Lorroakan, you’ll learn he wishes toimprison The Nightsong to try and gain her immortality.You can then return to camp can tell The Nightsong, who will want to face Lorroakan. Arriving back at the tower, you’ll begiven the choice of who to side within the coming battle. Whoever you side withwill become an ally for the final battle for Baldur’s Gate.
Siding with Lorroakan will have himreward you with 5,000 gold and will earndisapproval from your entire partyfor betraying your once ally. Siding with The Nightsong willlead to a moredifficult fightbut willkeep The Nightsong and Isobel as allieswhile letting you loot Lorroakan of his legendary robes andQuarterstaff.
