There is a rather massive list ofmagical itemsthat you will come across in your journey inBaldur’s Gate 3. However, like most RPGs, it is difficult to snag every item during your first playthrough.
If you want to get the best magic items in the game, you will need to search high and low. You will also need to pick fights with NPCs that you might not think of challenging right away, as they hold the item you are looking for.

One such item held by an NPC is theGleamdance Dagger. Let’s break down how to get this weapon in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Where to Find the Gleamdance Dagger in Baldur’s Gate 3
The Gleamdance Dagger in Baldur’s Gate 3is being held by Farlin at the Smuggler’s Docks to the west of Wyrm’s Crossing in Act 3.They are part of a battle going on near the docks.
To find the docks, follow the path to the west of Wyrm’s Crossing. You can easily find the road by traveling to theSword Coast Couriersbuilding and heading west down the hill.

Along the way, you will find various traps, so be sure to bring a character who is good at disarming them, like a rogue. After a while, you will discover a battle going on between Farlin’s crew and some other smugglers.
When you get close, you will automatically get dragged into the fight, and Farlin and their crew will be marked as temporary allies, showing you who to avoid during the fight. Once the enemies are defeated, Farlin will talk to you.

During this conversation, you will have the opportunity to attack.I recommend holding off, as if you agree to help Farlin and play along, you will receive a large sum of gold, and you can always use more.
Wait until the crew heads back to their ship and follow them back. At this point, you will be able to attack them and collect the various items the crew has on their people.Once killed, Farlin will have the Gleamdance Dagger in their inventory.

Farlin is similar to other NPCs, such as Gish Far’aag, who has theRing of Arcane Synergy. This is because you cannot get the Gleamdance Dagger without killing Farlin. If you attempt to pickpocket them, you will only find various baubles and won’t find the dagger, leaving only one option to obtain it.
Gleamdance Dagger Stats and Uses
The Gleamdance Daggeris an off-hand dagger, meaning it must be wielded in a character’s off-hand to get the full effect. When equipped in the off-hand, this dagger gives the wielder a +1 bonus to their armor class. It also shines a constant light in a 6m radius.
The light is useful for illuminating a room or a dark cave if you are playing a character who doesn’t have Darkvision. The main ability, however, is what you want this dagger for, as the +1 bonus to armor class is great for those who are playing a Bard, Rogue, or Bladesinger Wizard.

Rogues will get the most use out of this weaponsince they can dual-wield weapons very effectively, and there are other daggers that are great for dual-wielding. Bards who want to dual-wield will also get use out of this weapon, though they may want a rapier or other finesse weapon in their main hand.
