Well, the moment is finally here when Zack Snyder’s magnum opus gets unveiled. With a space opera at the heart of the story,Rebel Moon isreleased in theaters today for a limited release. The first reviews of the movie are on two opposite ends.
With some hailing the movie as a masterpiece and others deeming it as trash, the movie has completely divided viewers. Fans of Zack Snyder took to X (formerly Twitter) to support the director and call out the anti-Snyder people review-bombing the movie.
People Allegedly Rallied Against Zack Snyder’s Film!
What seemed to be one of the biggest movies of 2023 turned into a warzone for fans of Zack Snyder and the people against him. With the release ofRebel Moo: Part One – A Child of Fire,people took to Rotten Tomatoes to essentially review bomb the movie.

Upon its release, several critics took to the website Rotten Tomatoes to give the film a bad rating (for reasons unknown). As per a post on X, the lowest rating thatRebel Moongot was a meager low of 9% on Rotten Tomatoes. The lowest in Zack Snyder’s career ever!

Naturally, people took to X to defend their favorite director as they called out foul play and an unfair grading system. Stating that the critics had a prejudiced reaction againstZack Snyder’smovie, fans rallied for the director’s movie in a show of support and resilience (much likeRebel Moon).

However, since the release, the 9% score has jumped to 23% on Rotten Tomatoes. It seems that with time, more and more people are becoming aware of the reviews and trying to lift the score ofRebel Moon.Although the director has such a strong fanbase, Zack Snyder revealed that he has one regret for another movie!

Back in 2011, Snyder created and directed a film titledSucker Punch.Being an average movie with mediocre ratings, Snyder revealed toMetro.co.uk. that he regretted changing the R-rated style of the movie into a PG-13 film.
“The original version would have been super controversial, it was super dark. It was the darkest thing ever but we didn’t care about that. We just cared about the fact that we couldn’t get close to it with the money that they would have given us for the R-rated version of it. That was the problem.”
Sucker Punchreceived a rating of 6/10 on IMDB and a record-low of 22% on Rotten Tomatoes. On the other hand, Snyder’sRebel Moonis currently standing at a rating of 23% on Rotten Tomatoes and a whopping 8.6/10 on IMDB. The film is currently screening in select theaters around the world before being available to stream on Netflix from 21st December 2023.
