Part 2 ended on quite the cliffhanger, with almost all the main characters banding together to fight to try and save the world. Eren’s motives throughout season 4 are finally clear as all parties march toward the final confrontation. Here is everything you need to know before Part 3.

Eren And Zeke
After Eren and Zeke meet in person and touch, they are together able toenter the coordinateand try to use thepower of the Founding Titan. Zeke, being of royal blood, was the one who would have true control of the Founding Titan, with Eren only being the key to use it. While Zeke thought the two were on the same side, Eren reveals he has been at the center of their father’s goals, as Eren has used the Attack Titans' powers to communicate and influence Grisha to be the man he was.

Zeke saw Eren as the true threat, but only afterEren had convinced Ymir to give him total power over the Founding Titan, and while Eren is not of royal blood, he can now use the Founding Titan’s full strength. While Zeke’s royal blood was needed to access this power, we aren’t shown what happens to him after Eren transforms into the Founding Titan, and he may still be alive, just being dragged along by Eren to use his blood.
The Rumbling
In the events of Part 2, we see Eren trick Zeke and use his royal blood to unlockthe full power of the Founding Titan, convincing Ymir to give him control of the wall Titans. Eren used this power to unharden every wall titan on Paradis and march them out to destroy the world. While an exact number is not given, it is estimated to behundreds of thousands of colossal titan-sized wall titans to be marching under Eren’s command. When the Great Titan War ended, it was said the Rumbling had the strength to destroy the world, and that only didn’t happen because the kind of Eldia swore off war.
Eren uses the Founding Titan to tell all Eldians he plans on using the Rumbling to kill everyone beyond Paradis, as the whole world hates Eldians. During his time in Marley, Eren saw that the entire world hates Paradis and will one day try to kill his friends, and his solution to this is to kill everyone on the planet, and the Rumbling has given him that power. Those in Paradise saw the Rumbling and made no effort or plan to stop Eren as it is seemingly impossible while also seeing it as a win for Eldians.
At the end of Part 2, we see the Global Allied Fleet gathered at Marley, containing the bulk of the world’s militaries and the world’s biggest guns. While they kill many titans, theRumbling is seemingly endless, and the fleet is quickly wiped out. Without the fleet and Marley’s army being trampled at the end, there is little that can stop Eren at this point.
The Alliance
The Alliance is the small group of main characters who have gathered together in alast-ditch effort to stop Eren. This group consists of Mikasa, Armin, Levi, Hange, Jean, Connie, Reiner, Annie, Pieck, Falco, and Gabi. Within this group, they have access to theColossal Titan, Female Titan, Armored Titan, Cart Titan, and Jaw Titan. Despite some personal relationships with Eren, everyone in this Alliance has decided he needs to be killed, even though Mikasa reluctantly agrees.
Despite Levi’s injuries from the Thunder Spear, he is seemingly healed enough to join in on the fight against Eren and, if Zeke is still alive,finally fulfilling his promise to Erwin to kill the Beast Titan.
The Alliance knows the scope of the Rumbling and is on a ship heading towards whatever will be left of Marley in an attempt to stop Eren before he destroys the world, prepared to fight both him and his Colossal Titans. While the current status of the Beast Titan is unknown, Zeke being alive and possibly joining the Alliance would lead to the same split seen in the Great Titan war, with seven of the nine titans fighting against the other three.
With Marley and the Global Army being wiped out, the Alliance is the world’s only hope of stopping Eren. While they do have six titan shifters with them,Eren is now a gigantic centipede-like titanthat towers over the hundreds of thousands of Wall Titans he still has left, trampling the world beyond the walls and killing anyone and everyone.
