There are hundreds of materials to discover and harvest in Atelier Ryza 3. Some can be acquired simply by exploring new areas, while other, rarer materials will require you to make use of more advanced tools.

Of all the materials you can find in the game, one of the most coveted is Septrine. This rare gemstone is not available to you immediately and will require you to progress through half of the story first. In this guide, we’ll walk you through exactly what you’ll need to do to get your hands on Septrine.
Prerequisites
Before you out smashing giant crystals in search of this prize, you’ll first want to ensure you are swinging your hammer in the right places. To find Septrine, you’ll first need to reach the Underworld. To do so, you’ll have to complete your initial investigation of the Kark Islands, as well as most of the story quests in Cleria and Nemed. After gaining the chief’s trust in Nemed, you’ll gain access to the ruins via the Central Blockade Area (map image). Here you’ll find a gateway to the Underworld.
After landing in the Underworld and being sent on your first mission, you’ll finally be able to harvest some Septrine. First, make sure you have leveled your Ravage Hammer or Golden Axe harvesting skill all the way up to the Masterful level. This will allow you to gather the third tier of materials that were previously locked, which is how you will acquire Septrine.

Where To Find Septrine
Now that you have your tools ready, make your way to the Cavern of Insanity. As you enter the cave, you’ll first see two dog-like enemies. Run past them, heading down the passage to the right. As you make your way down, you’ll find a rainbow-like crystal to harvest, similar to the one by the two dogs. The difference is that this one will have Septrine. To farm it, simply harvest, then fast travel back to the Cavern of Insanity landmark, run down the path, and harvest it again.
There are other, higher-level areas in the Underworld where you’re able to harvest Septrine more easily. If you are up for the challenge, head to the Old Dragon Shrine landmark in the northernmost part of the Holy Site of Urdis area. Here you’ll find many of the same crystals along the path, each having Septrine. To farm them, simply run down the path from the shrine and collect all the crystals along the way. Then fast travel back to the landmark and do it again.
