Yesterday evening,PlayStationheld a new ‘State of Play’ event, showcasing 14 titles across the 35-minute presentation. Two of the newly announced games were Astro Bot, a sequel to 2020’s free-to-play title,Astro’s Playroom, and Concord, an upcoming PvP hero shooter coming to PlayStation 5 and PC later this year.
While Astro’s Playroom came pre-installed on every PlayStation 5 console and was merely a fun tech demo for the DualSense controller, this quirky little platformer took on a life of its own when it was released almost 4 years ago. The sheer popularity of Astro’s Playroom meant that a sequel was practically inevitable. While speculation had been mounting for quite some time, we now know that Astro Bot will be released exclusively on the PlayStation 5 on September 6th.

Mortal Kombat 1’s Homelander Accused Of Copying Injustice’s Superman Moves
Both The Boys' Homelander and DC’s Superman have similar powers, but Mortal Kombat 1 fans wanted more originality.
Concord’s reception, on the other hand, hasn’t gone down as well as PlayStation likely would have hoped. After it was initially teased in May last year, a new CGI and gameplay trailer was revealed during yesterday’s showcase. You only need to take a quick glance at thetrailer’s comment sectionto see fans calling Concord “generic” and “plain.”

While Concord and Astro Bot are two incredibly different types of games, it shows that players aren’t interested in even more live service games, despite PlayStation insisting on investing in the genre. But fans are making their voices heard, as Astro Bot’s trailer is drastically outperforming Concord’s.
Astro Bot Trailer Has More Likes Than Concord
As spotted by a user on X (formerly Twitter), Astro Bot’s trailer has a huge advantage over Concord’s. With over 3,000 dislikes compared to Astro Bot’s 95, there’s a clear indicator of which game PlayStation fans are more hyped about.
At the time of writing this article, Concord’s gameplay trailer has 2,600 likes, while Astro Bot’s has a monumental 22,000 likes.

In this day and age, there’s no shortage of first-person shooters and hero shooters, many of which are monetized beyond belief. And it’s not just PlayStation that’s investing into the genre, Valve is also reportedly working on anew hero shooter titled ‘Deadlock’. But with fans begging for more unique, single-player experiences similar to Astro Bot, maybe it’s time for PlayStation to listen to what its fans actually want.

I’m sure I’ll be judged for this, but I have no shame in admitting this is how I’ve been playing Returnal…
