While no exact figures were shared, Ubisoft has said in its latest quarterly earnings report that pre-orders for Assassin’s Creed Shadows are “solid.”

In the report (viaEurogamer) , Ubisoft said Assassin’s Creed Shadows pre-order numbers are “in line with those of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the second most successful entry of the franchise.”

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is optimistic about the game, stating that “early previews have been positive.” Guillemot added, “I want to commend the incredible talent and dedication of the entire Assassin’s Creed team, who is working tirelessly to ensure that Shadows delivers on the promise of what is the franchise’s most ambitious entry yet.”

This is good news for Ubisoft, as the company has been down on their luck lately. Not only did their big bet of 2024, Star Wars Outlaws, underperform commercially,which resulted in Ubisoft’s stocks to tumble, but even its free-to-play gambleXDefiant is shutting its servers downlater this year, after failing to retain its player base.

Not only that, but the company hasalso closed down its UK studio in Leamington, which impacted over 180 jobs. Ubisoft is now in talks with Chinese company Tencent to facilitate a buyout, though that’s said to becurrently held up by the Guillemot family.
