Not all stealth missions will be smooth sailing, some of them will have forced combat situations. When sneaking into a fortress or royal palace in video games, you can usually expect a lot of resistance. This can consist of times when a sealed-off location will spring a large group of small enemies, a few really strong enemies, or even a variety of waves your way.

Assassin’s Creed Miragewill seeBasimhunting down and assassinating several different members of theOrder of the Ancientsthroughout the story of the game. Al-Mardikhwar, also known as Wasif Al Turki, will be Basim’s target for the mission, “Den of the Beast.”
Who Is Al-Mardikhwar
Al-Mardikhwar is aruthless warlordby the name ofWasif Al Turki. Wasif operates as a form ofhidden political powerwith influences over thethrone. He can be found in theGreat Garrisonand is responsible for countlessdeaths.
Follow Ali’s Contact
This mission starts with Basimmeetingup with Ali, who is watching a situation betweenGovernor Muhammadand thewarlord, Wasif Al Turki,unfold from somerooftops. Afterward, Ali will tell Basim that he hassomeone he trustson the inside that could help get Basim into thegarrison. Ali will then branch off from Basim to meet up laterinsidethe garrison to free thecaptured rebels. Once you regain control of Basim, look to theright sideof thegarrison walland you will see somesteps. Look even more to therightto see somecratesyou canclimbup. To theleftof the main entrance will be some people that you caneavesdropon. Eavesdropping on them willinformyou of where somecracksare on the wall that you’re able to use to gain access.
Head up thecrateson theright sideof the entrance.Assassinate the guardat this post and make your way along the wall away from the entrance. You will come to agapthat you canjumpacross. Directlybeforethis gap is asmall spaceyou canslide through. Follow theright wallto thefirst ladderyou see and goupit. To yourleftwill beanother ladderto climb up. Here you will see aguardto yourright— take him out. Make your way to theeast sideandlook downto see abale of haythat you canLeap of Faithinto. Get out of the bale andhead northeastto find thestewardyou seek. Talk to him and tell him you are ready to go.
You will now need tofollow the contactat a distance —while staying hidden. You can do this by staying close to theright wall, it is okay toassassinatethe guards you pass by, as the enemy guards willnot be lookingat them while you follow the contact.Afteryou have assassinated yoursecond guard, movenorth,and you will see a ladder you can use as abridge. Drop from this bridge while your contact iswaitingfor you. Once they respond to your presence, headdown the stairsand turnleft.
Climb upthe wall on thenorthside. Head up thestairson therightside, where you will see a guard stationed —assassinatehim. Headnortheastto the ledge where you canLeap of Faith. Your contact will go up thesteps, it is now safe to walk closebehindthem, and they willopen adoorfor you. Head through it and the door on the other side for a cutscene.
Alternatively, you canclear the jumpbefore the crack in the wall and make your wayalong the outer wallwith it on yourleft side. This path hasalot of guards, so you will need to be verywell aware of your surroundingsand know when to move, making this routethe more likely of the two to be seen. Once you get to thecorner, you may scale thewalland opposite this wall will be thefood storagearea.

How To Assassinate Al-Mardikhwar
After the cutscene ends, you will need todispatch agroup of guardsbefore another cutscene. You andAliwill now be in theGreat Garrison together. Head to theeast walland then headnorthto find somecratesyou canclimbup and then use to getover thewall. Atop this wall, you will see aladder,and upon climbing this ladder will be abrazier. Turn to therightand run along the wall until you seethe top of a wallthat is branching the gapbetweenthewall you areonand awooden beamyou can walk on. Walk on the wall connecting the two and then on thewooden beam.
In front of thewooden beamwill be ared canopyyou can jump from in order toreachtheplatformahead of you. Jumpover the shieldsand onto thestairs. Go up these stairs and turnleft. There will betwoguards stationed up here. Assassinate the guard on theleft. Wait for thewardenof the garrison towalk byandassassinatehim for thekeyshe carries. Use the wooden beams to get back to the areawhere Ali joined youafter the cutscene. Head to thenortheastcorner, where you will find agate.
In this room will beanother gateon the northwest side that you’re able to open with thewarden’s keys— the rebels will now befree. Speak with Ali and then go back to thebrazierfrom earlier tolight it. The elite guard will come out to confront the rebels, so be mindful of your surroundings. Be sure to use yourEagle Visiontoknow where enemies are patrolling. Headbackalong the wall you walked earlier to get back to thewooden beam and red canopy. Make thesame jumpand vault over thesame shields, but this time, headdown the stairswhilefollowing the right wall.
You will find a door along this wall with an enemy on the other side. Have somered powder readyor some othertoolyou can use to take them out when you open the door. In this same room will be atrap doorto go through. Follow thecorridor, andyou will come to awooden beamwhere you’re able to seeWasiftalking to some guards. Move along thebeams and chandelierto the other side of the room andwait for the guards to leave. Walk over to theledgeand then onto thewooden beamabove Wasif, thenassassinatehim from above. This will trigger Wasif’s death cutscene.
Analternatemeans of accessing the room with the trap door would be toscalealong thewalls opposite the doorand climb up onto thebalcony. This way, you can access the room while beingbehindthe guard. This route takes a bitlongerand is thetrickierof the two — but will be required if you haveno tools leftto take out the guard as you enter.
