Armie Hammer is an American actor who seemed to have a promising career when he was recognized for his portrayal of the Winklevoss twins inThe Social Network.He also acted inThe Man from U.N.C.L.EandCall Me by Your Name, which established him in Hollywood and also earned him several award nominations.
But his flourishing career came to an end and took a dramatic turn when all kinds of accusations flooded against him. He lost several high-profile projects and had to retreat from the public eye, but his recent comments have made him the topic of discussion again.

In January 2021, Armie Hammer faced a torrent of allegations that brought his professional life to a dead end. Multiple women accused him of s*xual misconduct, emotional abuse, and coercion. Some of theexplicit messages that he allegedly sentsurfaced online and they had graphic content (viaPeople).

I want to eat you”and another disturbing one that stated,“Cut off one of your toes and keep it with me in my pocket,”everyone was questioning the actor’s intent and character. Now, years down the line, Hammer showed up onThe Louis Theroux’s Podcastand dismissed the claims.
Did I ever have any intention of cutting anything off of anyone or eating anything off of anyone? No. There was never really anything that I wanted. Was it fun to joke about if I was stoned or drunk or like laughing as I was typing these messages? Sure.
He pointed out that the texts were one-sided and the responses from the other person were cut off. Hammer also suggested that most people would not be comfortable with revealing the jokes they make with friends in public.

The controversy surroundingArmie Hammerdeepened with the release of a docuseries titledHouse of Hammer. It featured accounts from his ex-partners and also examined the generational history of abuse in his family. His estranged aunt, Casey Hammer was also featured in the series, and she spoke toEntertainment Weeklyabout numerous topics, one of them being her nephew.

She had previously detailed the family’s dark past in her memoir,Surviving My Birthright. According to her, Armie Hammer was simply the latest in a long line of powerful men who misused privilege and the cycle of abuse was ingrained in their family. Revelations by a family member turned out to be detrimental for the actor, as most seemed to believe his aunt and her description of the Hammers.
