Respawn Entertainmentkicked off July by announcing some fresh changes toApex Legends' Battle Pass, but the controversial move hasled to a boycott, negative reviews, andmass dislikes. While the studio has yet to acknowledge the community’s disapproval of these changes, a leaker suggests that the studio has already opted to reverse the changes before they are even implemented.
As of writing this article, Respawn has not officially backtracked on the controversial changes. Unless anything changes between now and Season 22, Apex Legends' Battle Pass system is set to receive a massive overhaul with the release of the upcoming season.

Apex Legends' Alter Has A Pretty Unique Animation That You Might Have Missed
Thanks to a third-person glitch, an Apex Legends player has discovered that Alter has a unique animation likely not seen by many others before.
For those who might be out of the loop, Respawn intends to separate Apex Legends' Battle Pass into two separate passes for each season, with the second Battle Pass of the season set to be released at the same time as the ranked split. If you don’t manage to level up the first Battle Pass of the season before the second one comes out, you won’t be able to continue unlocking rewards from it.

But the real controversy is around the removal of the ability to purchase Apex Legends' Battle Passes with Apex Coins. From Season 22, if the changes are to be implemented, players will only be able to get their hands on the premium Battle Passes by purchasing them with real-life money. Each pass will cost players $9.99, which means you’ll be spending almost $20 per season if you want both passes.
Plenty of players threatened to quit Apex Legends if the changes are implemented next season, with many disgruntled players leaving a negative review on the game’s Steam page. Currently, Apex Legends has an “overwhelmingly negative” review badge when it comes to recent reviews, with only 7% of the recent 78,506 reviews being positive.

With such a negative response from the community, fans have patiently been waiting for Respawn to either backtrack on the changes or at least release some form of statement. But if leakerYOROTSUKIis to be believed, the studio intends to revert the controversial changes.
We recommend you take these details with a pinch of salt for the time being, but YOROTSUKI is known as a reliable leaker and data miner within the Apex community. However, the leaker admits they do not know the extent to which the changes will be reverted. It seems unlikely that Respawn will completely scrap the idea, but it does seem plausible that the studio would alter some of the most controversial changes, such as only allowing players to purchase the Battle Pass with real-life money.

For now, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement from Respawn Entertainment.
