Amber Heard can easily be called one of the most controversial figures in the film industry. Her very public trial with Johnny Depp left her reputation in the dust, and she came out of the entire debacle as one of the most hated people in Hollywood. There is no denying that such events would affect both the personal and professional lives of someone.

While Heard has made efforts to contain the damage to her personal life by moving locations, her professional life is a completely different situation. There is no denying that after the trial, her days in the film industry were numbered, making it difficult for her to get any success and build off after such fallout. However, looking at the past shows us something else altogether.
Amber Heard’s Career Wasn’t Impressive To Begin With
While many would argue that it was her publicly embarrassing experience that left a huge dent inAmber Heard’scareer, the evidence would say otherwise. Looking at herIMDbprofile, the films that she made before the trial have not been rated very well by critics, who are supposed to give unbiased opinions of films. Taking the example of her last five films, since her recent works haven’t been released yet, a lot can be seen.
In 2019, Heard starred in Nabil Elderkin’s film,Gully, playing the role of a woman named Joyce. The film followed three teens as they navigated the challenges that come with being marginalized youth in the darker parts of Los Angeles. Unfortunately for her, the film has arating of 2.6 out of 10, having been ripped apart by critics.

Mera—A Casualty of the Trial or Coincidence?
Amber Heard’s time in the DC Universe has been quite complicated and difficult. She started off strong with 2018’sAquaman,the rest is a different tale altogether. After the Jason Momoa hit, she was a part ofZack Snyder’s Justice League. While the film does have a 7.9 rating, her contributions to the movie were quite small.
Finally, her most recent film,Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomis the most complicated of them all. The film was released after her trial, which made a lot of its conversations focus on the part she played in it. Her appearance was kept as minimal as possible; however, fans collectively boycotted the movie.
