Stellar Blade’s futuristic aesthetics are reflected in almost all aspects of the character and environment. The Naytibas form a perfect contrast to the sleek and modern look of the ships, weapons, and characters.

However, despite the masterful artistic vision of Hyung-Tae Kim, not every aspect of the game has received the same level of detail. This has been pointed out in a now-deleted post, with a special focus on the many costumes available to Eve.

Costumes in Stellar Blade Are Fashionable but Not Functional

With games going above and beyond to become more immersive, even the smallest discrepancies can cause the experience to be interrupted. Some developers, such as Ninja Theory, have gone so far as to limit the frame rate capabilities to deliver the most immersive and cinematic experience.

Stellar Bladeis, undeniably, a beautiful game, and, despite its many controversiesregarding the character design, the title has proven to offer equal amounts of substance and style. However, despite creating an eye-catching aesthetic, Hyung-Tae Kim may have missed out on a crucial factor in his game design.

In a now-deleted post, one fan criticized the lack of immersive suits in the game.Stellar Bladehas a number of suits players can use to customize Eve’s look. But one common trait is that none of them are what can be considered combat-appropriate. Replies to the post offer their theories as to why the suits look as they do.

Another reply offers a more lore-appropriate reason for the suit selection.

Not everyone feels adversely about these suits, as some are far more on the fence.

It is interesting to see that whileStellar Bladeis being criticized for this reason,The First Descendantalso features a fairly risque outfit for the game’s speedster, Bunny. The Ultimate Bunny skin is not one a soldier would wear to a gunfight, but the reason for the lack of criticism may be that the looter shooter is not intended to be an immersive experience.

Despite Criticisms Fans Want More from SHIFT UP

The game wasn’t without its faults, butStellar Bladeproved that it was more than just fan service. SHIFT UP has alluded to a sequel in the past, so at least one more game in the series may be coming.

Other fans have also been recounting their experience with the game, pointing out things they would have liked to see included. One such is the fight with the giant Naytiba creature that can take down ships. While it would have been a difficult fight, we may see such an altercation in a sequel or possible DLC.

Fans are also hoping SHIFT UP continues to release newStellar Blade-related merchandise. The newest request is an art book, which could show concept art and other design processes for the title. Given that Hyung-Tae Kim is known for his amazing art, an art book would be well appreciated by fans.

Gaming was one of my earliest passions then along came writing, and here we are. I’ve been in the content creation space for several years now and as gamer for even longer. From understanding the complexities of a multilayer narrative to the simply joy of “big gun go boom”, my goal is to capture all the emotions in between and put them down in an engaging manner.
