Saber Interactive had to decide whether or not to bring back Captain Titus inWarhammer 40k: Space Marine 2. Creative Director Oliver Hollis-Leick recognized that fans were deeply invested in Titus’s story, which had been left unresolved in the first game.

The decision to bring back Titus wasn’t just about fan service; it was also about completing something that was left unfinished. As Saber Interactive’s Oliver Hollis-Leick said in an interview withGameReactor,
And I think if we’d have just gone away from that, a lot of people would have been unhappy, but we’d have left something unfinished.

He noted that the team meticulously researched and considered fan feedback, which overwhelmingly supported the continuation of Titus’s story.
And so, just as we were beginning, and we were looking online and researching the first game, there was a lot of desire from the fans to know what happened.

The team did proper research to not just stay true toWarhammerlore, but improve upon it. They even madesome changes to the originalthat will bring the world closer to the lore.
What drew you back to Titus? Well, Titus’ story was unfinished. We never learned why he was resistant to the war. We never knew what happened to him afterwards.
