Along with it, the PSVR 2 headset got a huge discount of $200, effectively making the price $349.99. The digital edition model is harder to find, but now you can get it at $399.99.

After this discount, the sales of the PSVR 2 broke the ceiling. According toThe Shortcut, the sales of these headsets have seen a rise of a staggering 2,350% over a 24-hour period. The interesting part is that the day right after the discount saw more sales than the first seven months of 2024 combined.

Sony announced in June thatthe company is going to launch a PC adapter for PSVR 2on July 11, 2025. Priced at $59.99, this adapter would add PC support to this PS5-exclusive headset. Sony had confirmed that this adapter will support all Steam VR games, including huge names likeHalf-Life: Alyx. However, to run these Steam titles on PC, players will need a DisplayPort cable.
Sony Announce New Plans For PlayStation with Some Multiplatform PSVR2 Games Inbound
In ablog post, the company has explained the differences between playing the games on PS5 or PC via your VR headset:
PSVR 2 was designed from the ground up specifically for PS5—so you’ll notice that some key features, like HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback (other than rumble), are not available when playing on PC. However, other high-fidelity and sensory immersion features of PSVR 2 are supported, including 4K visuals (2000 x 2040 per eye), 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, and see-through view, as well as foveated rendering (without eye tracking) and 3D audio in supported games.

The huge sale of PSVR 2 has made it clear that VR gaming’s future is pretty bright. And now, with the adapter releasing soon, not only PS fans but PC fans will also join the party.
