From 2019 to 2022, the WWE 24/7 Championship took up some of the spotlight on Mondays and Fridays. Similar to the Hardcore Championship, this title was defended around the clock, meaning just about anybody could sneak up and capture the gold. It was a wild time, but thankfully, it didn’t last long.

In addition to the horribly designed title belt, the numerous times the 24/7 Championship changed hands on any given day, ranging from one to a half dozen, was nauseating.

And it wasn’t just the men who could compete. Female wrestlers, legends, and even celebrities got in on the action. Just about anybody with a pulse could hold the green and gold on the shoulders, regardless of how long that run would be.

10 Most Beloved WWE Babyfaces Of All Time

The hero. The good guy. It’s taken on different forms throughout the years, from the take your vitamins types to the back talking badass.

In total, the 24/7 Championship changed hands over 200 times, with one familiar name claiming a quarter of those reigns. This list will feature 12 of those title changes, ranging from the silly to the downright insane.

Titus O’Neil in WWE 24/7 Champion

Inaugural Champion, Grabbed Title First

Robert Roode

On August 20, 2025, Mick Foley revealed the 24/7 Championship to the WWE Universe, beginning a three-year extravaganza of mayhem and goofy moments.

Sure, the championship title wasn’t the best-kept secret in the world, as is usually the case with anything in the WWE, but once it was fully unveiled, the crowd went mild.

R-Truth and Jinder Mahal in WWE 24/7 Championship

Similar to how Vince McMahon gave Foley the Hardcore Championship, the 24/7 Championship was placed in the ring, and the first person to grab it would become its inaugural champion. Titus O’Neil utilized his strength and speed, thankfully didn’t slip under the ring apron, and became the first 24/7 Champion in WWE history.

So, how did the first 24/7 Champion lose the title? O’Neil may have celebrated a little too long on the entrance ramp and forgotten about the rules of the title, as Bobby Roode attacked him from behind before rolling him up and winning the championship.

R-Truth and Drake Maverick in WWE 24/7 Championship

Poor Roode couldn’t even grab the title, which flew out of O’Neil’s hands, as the remaining participants in the scramble chased him to the backstage area.

Jinder Mahal

Drake Maverick

Be prepared to see R-Truth on this list more often than not. He did have the title for a record 53 runs, which means he holds a whopping 26.23% of the total title changes.

In true R-Truth fashion, it wouldn’t be him without some comedy mixed in, which brings us to his first entry on the list. After losing the title to Jinder Mahal, R-Truth hopped on the plane with him, seeking revenge.

Bad Bunny and Damian Priest in WWE 24/7 Champion

While this wasn’t live on Raw or SmackDown, the WWE-exclusive video showed R-Truth creeping down the aisles in search of Mahal. This meant pulling the covers off the faces of certain WWE superstars, disturbing their sleep in the process. Once R-Truth found Mahal, he wasted no time covering him, which led to Mahal scrambling in his seat and being unable to move.

The run may have only lasted 12 days, but it was the longest of his career at that point. R-Truth managed to avoid almost everyone on the June 18 edition of SmackDown, but a sneaky Drake Maverick, disguised as Carmella, surprised R-Truth and beat him for the title. Trust me when I tell you, this willnotbe the last time these two crossed paths.

Heath Slater

In another WWE-exclusive video, R-Truth was up to his shenanigans once again. Displeased with losing the title to Drake Maverick, R-Truth would do one better than his victory on a plane by crashing Maverick’s wedding.

As he and his wife, Renee Michelle, walked down the aisle after tying the knot, R-Truth popped up with a referee and rolled Drake up for the win. Something about R-Truth and being confined to a small area with aisles spells disaster for whoever was the champion at the time.

Although a wedding day is supposed to be filled with joy and love, there was nobody happier than R-Truth, who celebrated with the championship as he ran out of the ceremony. Poor Drake was left at the altar, still a married man, but ten pounds lighter around the waist.

R-Truth dropped the title to Heath Slater four days later on the June 24 episode of Raw, but don’t feel too bad for him. He won it back, then lost it, and won it again. Like I said, the 24/7 Championship was insanity incarnate, and there was no telling who would win the title next. But, if you were a betting man, you’d put money on R-Truth.

June 08, 2025 – Monday Night Raw

Akira Tozawa

R-Truth (Relinquished)

Our first celebrity appearance on the list is Bad Bunny, a multi-Grammy-winning artist who isn’t unfamiliar with the WWE circle.

Not only did he main event a PLE with Damian Priest, but Bad Bunny was also the 24/7 Champion for a solid month. Yes, he did take advantage of an unconscious Akira Tozawa, but sometimes, it isn’t abouthowyou win the championship.

Bad Bunny didn’t really have to defend the title either, as he was accompanied by Priest, his friend at the time. Mind you, there were probably security guards and other members of his entourage waiting off-camera, so attacking him for the gold would warrant a mauling. Bad Bunny was as safe as you could hope for while holding the 24/7 Championship.

The funny thing is, Bad Bunny never technically lost the title. To lose a championship, you either need to be pinned or made to submit, neither of which happened. The next champion happens to also be the follow-up entry on this list, so I’ll avoid spoilers on how it happened. I wouldn’t want togive it awaylike that.

June 07, 2025 – Monday Night Raw

Bad Bunny (Sort of)

Joseph Average

There’s no denying that R-Truth is one of the funniest members of the WWE locker room, but nobody was prepared for how he dethroned Bad Bunny.

After 28 days with the championship, it would take another approach to getting the title off of him. Not too many WWE superstars would have thought of a better way to obtain the championship, but R-Truth had the perfect plan.

Bearing gifts in hand, R-Truth convinced Bad Bunny that the best option for him was equivalent exchange. Aware of his fandom for Stone Cold Steve Austin, R-Truth gifted Bad Bunny a Steve Austin figurine, a metal lunch box, and most importantly, a Smoking Skull replica championship.

For those who grew up watching the Attitude Era, this championship title was a must-have for Steve Austin fans.

Realizing the burden of being the 24/7 Champion, Bad Bunny felt like he was accommodated enough and received enough gifts to give the title to R-Truth. Technically, this means Bad Bunny is still the 24/7 Champion, but going by WWE logic, he lost it at that moment.

79 Title Changes

August 17, 2025 – Monday Night Raw (Reunion)

Too Many To Count

Mike Kanellis

During the Raw Reunion episode on August 04, 2025, R-Truth was probably threatened more than on any other day.

Not only did he have the WWE locker room to prepare for, but the company also brought back legends of the last few decades to celebrate the event. It was a packed building full of people who wouldn’t mind winning some gold.

A total of nine changes happened on that night, and you best believe it wasn’t just active superstars grabbing the opportunity. Former McMahon stooges Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco briefly held the title, as did Kelly Kelly and Candice Michelle.

Among the names etched in 24/7 Championship history, no moment stood out more than the one shared between Alundra Blayze and The Million Dollar Man.

Following her win, Blayze would attempt to trash the 24/7 Championship, similar to what she did with the WWF Women’s Championship on WCW television. Before she could do that, Ted Dibiase Sr. came out to offer an alternative, in the form of cold, hard cash.

Everybody has a price, and so did Blayze, who exchanged the title for a stack of cash. Sadly, it wouldn’t be worth it, as the title landed back in the hands of R-Truth by the end of the night.

64 Title Changes

June 29, 2025 – Monday Night Raw

Nikki A.S.H.

Ironically enough, R-Truth crashing Drake Maverick’s wedding wouldn’t be the only time a marital ceremony would lead to chaos.

On July 18, 2025, during a double-wedding ceremony involving Tamina and Tozawa, and Reggie and Dana Brooke, Brooke would lose the title to Reggie after the two celebrated their marriage with a kiss, not realizing her shoulders were being pinned to the mat.

Both Tamina and Tozawa joined in on the fun, capturing the 24/7 Championship for a couple of seconds before Brooke won back the title. All this mayhem went down in a matter of minutes, yet the funny thing about this was that R-Truth was holding the ceremony and never once thought about jumping in.

In fact, R-Truth only held the 24/7 Championship one more time after this event, beating Tozawa on June 20 during Main Event, before dropping it the same day to Nikki A.S.H., otherwise known as Nikki Cross. Is it the last time you’ll see R-Truth on this list? Absolutely not.

5Santa Claus

July 18, 2025 – Aired on Monday Night Raw

Akira Tozawa has the unfortunate achievement of losing the 24/7 Championship in the weirdest of ways.

He was beaten by Bad Bunny backstage, lost the title on his wedding day, and was even taken down by a retired wrestler turned YouTuber, Joseph Average. Despite his long list of embarrassing defeats, none would destroy his ego more than his loss to Santa Claus.

You heard that right, ol' Kris Kringle himself once took some time off from delivering presents and spreading cheer to hold the 24/7 Championship. Knocking Tozawa over with his present bag, Santa Claus picked up the win before running off gleefully with the title in hand. On that night, cookies and milk were not enough to satisfy Santa Claus' hunger.

You might as well call R-Truth the Grinch that stole the 24/7 Championship, because he managed to chase down Old Saint Nick, knocking him to the ground and winning back the 24/7 Championship.

While he celebrated his 25th victory, poor Santa Claus was forced to return to his day job of passing gifts to children around the world.

July 05, 2025 – Friday Night SmackDown

Not all of R-Truth’s title wins have occurred in odd places. In this case, it takes place in the center of the ring, in probably the most normal way you’ll see the 24/7 Championship defended during its three-year run. It all went down on August 01, 2025, just eight days after the title became a thing in the company.

During a match on SmackDown, Roman Reigns and R-Truth teamed up to take on Drew McIntyre and Elias. The 24/7 Championship rules were suspended while the two teams battled.

At the time, Elias was the holder of the title, and, thanks to Shane McMahon, he didn’t need to worry about losing it if he were pinned in the match. Unfortunately for him, those rules don’t apply after the match.

Elias did go on to lose the match for his team, and that’s when the fun began. With the 24/7 ban lifted, Reigns took the opportunity to deliver a thunderous spear to Elias, leaving him motionless in the middle of the ring.

Instead of pinning him and taking the title for himself, Reigns gave R-Truth the green light to cover Elias. It was a sweet moment of brotherhood, as Reigns celebrated with R-Truth following the win.

If Santa Claus wasn’t goofy enough for you, how about a politician in office getting his hands on the 24/7 Championship? Okay fine, it’s notanypolitician, it’s Glenn Jacobs. Formerly known as the Big Red Machine, Kane.

Jacobs was serving office in 2019 when R-Truth paid a visit to his town of Knoxford, Tennessee. This would prove to be a terrible decision on his part, as R-Truth was in for more than a friendly visit.

Attempting to flee Jacobs before he turned into the monster he once was, R-Truth hilariously ran into a football goal post, unintentionally knocking himself out. Taking advantage of the situation, Jacobs covered R-Truth, capturing the 24/7 Championship.

The win was easier than any electoral vote he had to participate in, and before long, Jacobs made off as both the mayor of Tennessee and a champion in WWE.

After sneaking in a win to take back the title, R-Truth was in a precarious predicament as Kane placed his hand around his throat. In pure Naruto talk-jitsu style, R-Truth convinced Kane that being the 24/7 Champion is a lot like being a mayor — you need to work all the time.

This was enough to convince Jacobs, who let go of the hold and let R-Truth go, apologizing for his instinctual reaction.
